Liverpool Central Shopping Centre

In partnership with Liverpool City Council, Augur acquired Liverpool Central Shopping Centre which sits above Liverpool Central Station, one of the busiest stations outside of London.

Collaborative discussions are already underway with the Council and Network Rail to enable the expansion of Liverpool Central Station to accommodate growing passenger numbers which are at almost 16.5 million per annum and expected to increase significantly.

We completed a multi-million pound refurbishment of the Centre, to include replacement shopfronts, signage, mall flooring and finishes and upgraded lighting. This upgrade provides a much improved “front door” to the Station, which has been missing historically, enhancing its presence on the street.

The result of the refurbishment has attracted a number of new tenants to the centre and existing tenants to renew their existing occupancy, all at enhanced rental levels.

This acquisition, together with the plans for Circus at the adjacent Lewis’s building, gives the stakeholders control of the key land holdings in the area, breathing life back into the Iconic Lewis’s building and ensuring that Central Station is upgraded to a standard more befitting the level of footfall it achieves.
