The Xchange, Bradford

The Xchange is a 98,000 sq ft mixed use property situated adjacent to the entrance of the Broadway Shopping Centre, in Bradford. The asset included approximately 55,000 sq ft of offices above extensive retail accommodation.

We secured detailed planning consent for the reconfiguration of 43,000 sq ft of retail space fronting the entrance of the Broadway Shopping Centre. We undertook a £2.7m refurbishment programme to improve the overall external appearance of the property and attract those retailers who would prefer to be close to, but not within, the new Westfield shopping centre.

In parallel, we obtained permitted development rights for the office element of the building and a conversion to apartments is currently underway by a third party local developer. The retail units were leased to Dunkin Donuts, YMCA, Metrobank, Easygym, CEX, Greggs, GDK and Esquires Coffee.

A new cinema/leisure complex opened in 2018 opposite The Xchange which further enhanced its prime pitch within the core retail area of Bradford.
